Additions to a ’50s Rambler
A modest 1950s rambler was transformed by a thoughtfully scaled 8′ x 8′ x 12′ tower, a new front porch, a cozy bed-alcove addition, and art studio. The tall windows of the tower open to embrace the surrounding Douglas firs, drawing the landscape into daily life. To the south, a porch with translucent roof and a reflecting pool extend the home’s livability—and its sense of delight—into the outdoors.
