Description

This is a house inspired by the owner's childhood home in Mendicino, California, and transplanted to an island in Puget Sound.

The plan hosts a several 'zones': at the heart is the kitchen/dining space with its adjacent covered porch overlooking a forested ravine. The Living Room functions as a quiet "away" space. The Library is another separate space and may transform into a ground level Master Bedroom suite. It has a vaulted ceiling, french doors and a propane stove hearth. On the second floor are two more bedrooms and a bath.
